On 2/7/17, the Army Corps announced it would grant the easement to finish construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline pipeline under the water of the Missouri River, without having to complete an Environmental Impact Statement, which was required and halted work for the past two months. It is a heavy blow to everyone still out there standing for their access to clean water and a real blow to tribal sovereignty around the nation.
